Resine Decoloration
..............................................................................................................

For may years, our firm has used, instead of active carbons, a weak base anion resin which can be regenerated.
These are its advantages:
- it allows frequent operations of load and unload of active carbon with the purpose of allowing its re-generation, because it can be regenerated either with soda at 2% or sodium chloride at 10%;
- management costs of the plant even in the less favourable hypothesis in which you must replace the resins every 120 cycles, are less a half, compared to a traditional plant with active carbons.
- the results obtained on filters placed downstream of a traditional biological plant show a very high capacity of these resins to remove colour, a reduction in COD being appx. 50%, while it is not possible to obtain good results in the removal of surface active agents by this method.

How does it work?
The system must be preceded by an effective filtering on quarz filters; the choice of a type of regenerating element to be used is conditioned by the local cost of each product and also by the problems coming from the discharge in the tank for the accumulation of chlorides. This problem does not exist if, instead of sodium chloride, soda is taken as a re-generating element.

  • Resine replacement is much less frequent than active carbon replacement.
  • Can be re-generated both with soda or chloride
  • Color removal > 90%
  • COD removal > 40%
